Annual TVDSB Requirement

As a condition of employment, all Board employees must complete their annual WHMIS Review, Offence Declaration, I.T. Declaration and Privacy Declarations by August 31, 2021.

We recommend OTs fulfill this requirement as they work on their mandatory training modules, so as not to forget.

The link is in the TVDSB Employee Portal, highlighted in yellow. Declarations do not have to be completed all at once, but the total must be completed by the deadline.

Mandatory Online Training is Posted

All TVOT members must complete the 15 modules that have been posted in the Employee Portal unless you are on a Board approved leave. Daily OTs have until June 29th to complete these for .5 payment with their July 16th pay. LTOs must complete all modules as well, though some of these may be done during staff meetings throughout the year.

These are the mandatory modules:

- Anaphylaxis and Asthma Management Training Video

- Eplilepsy

- Asthma

- Diabetes

- Concussion Training

- October: Fire Code Training

- November: Head Injury Prevention

- December: Slips, Trips and Falls

- Video 2: Violence General Awareness

- Module 5: Harassment

- Module 7: Management of Aggressive Behaviour

- Module 4: Safe Schools and Employee Roles

- Module 13: Recognizing and Coping with Aggressive Behaviour

- Ergonomics

Hit "SUBMIT" after completing each module. Tip: if the check marks are still there the next time you log back into the Portal, completion has been successfully recorded.

All elementary OTs/LTOs who are eligible (those with an FTE or contract equal to or less than .5) may participate in up to three half-days of paid PD and participation counts for all purposes as time worked. Sessions listed in the Portal with the date of June 29th can be completed by TVOT members anytime including evenings and weekends so long as members submit the necessary Reflection Form. N.B. one half-day must be reserved for the Mandatory online training modules now posted.
