TVOT Ratification Meeting; TVOT Elections; How to Earn While You Learn; TVOT Spring Meeting; Deadline for Resource Rebate; Remedy Payment

 

Your TVOT Collective Bargaining Team would like to thank the members who attended the Ratification Meeting last evening, May 7th.  Those in attendance voted 95% to accept the Tentative Collective Agreement that was presented. The details of this Agreement must remain confidential until the TVDSB Trustees have an opportunity to review the terms and decide if they will ratify the new Agreement as well. Your TVOT Local will advise members of that outcome, when it becomes available.

The following candidate forms for our TVOT Local Elections were received by the deadline of 5 pm on May 3, 2024:

The TVOT Constitution allows candidates to run from the floor only for positions where no candidate form was received.  There will however be an election for the positions of Executive Member at Large since 5 candidate forms were received but only 4 positions are available.

Elections will be held at our TVOT Spring Annual Meeting, May 23, 2024 at the Lamplighter Inn - Crystal Ballroom North.

TVDSB Staff Development is hosting 5 Paid PD Workshops on the May 31st PD Day. This is an opportunity for daily OTs to earn half a day of pay for each session, on a day when they otherwise could not work. 

Two sessions will be in-person: "Implementing the Essential Conditions for Learning Foldables" and "Read Alouds With Purpose and Power in the J/I Classroom". 

The other three sessions will be via Teams.

Registration is via the TVDSB Employee Portal > Conference/Session Registrations.

TVOT Resource Rebate deadline is May 31st!

TVOT members may purchase professional book(s) or resources related to their elementary professional needs and receive a rebate of up to $75 / per member per school year.  Shop at your favourite bookstore or check out ETFO resources at https://shop.etfo.ca/  .

Members who register on our Local website www.etfotvot.com can find the application forms there. Items musts have been purchased within the previous 60 days to be eligible. For more information, contact our Local office at mail@etfotvot.com or 519-641-3936.

TVDSB has advised us that TVOT members can expect their Remedy payment either May 17th or May 31st at the latest.
