April 5th
- OTEs who are interested in taking advantage of the Self-directed option for this date are invited to participate. Schools are doing a half day PD around school improvement; OTEs cannot be paid for the health and safety that day. It is a great opportunity to network with colleagues and learn about schools where you may regularly teach. Interested OTEs should speak to the principal at their school of interest. A Principal Permission Form must be submitted before the PD day, 3 days is best. Full details are under the session title.
- OTEs can choose to do an on-line PD session for the other half day if they wish.
- ETFO is organizing another evening paid PD session. Details will be coming out later in late March or early April. These evening sessions will be processed in TVARRIS to a half day when you are not working. Information will come through the OT Elementary Outlook group.
- Health and Safety training will be offered in half day sessions for OTEs. This half day session is a learning opportunity beyond the mandatory training that OTEs must do. The day covers safety policies, safety plans for management of aggressive behaviour, accident incident procedures, water testing and air quality and employee mental health.
- OTEs can choose to do an on-line PD session for the other half day if they wish.
June 28th
- Mandatory training must be completes by end of day on June 28th. There will be an email sent through the Occasional Teacher Elementary Outlook group which will detail how to access the training. The training will be processed to this date.
- Last day to do on-line PD sessions - only one can be dated June 28th. On-line PD forms and resources cannot be accessed after this date.
If you have any questions about these PD opportunities, please connect with Charlene Hofbauer, ext. 20506 or c.hofbauer@tvdsb.ca
