Be in the Know

Be in the Know
This is a bargaining year. For up to the date information about the current round of negotiations and articles of interest to all members visit http://www.etfocb.ca/

The Connected Communities project is comprised of a series of new online sessions with a team of teacher experts.  Funded by the Ontario Ministry of Education, online sessions will take the form of webcasts, webinars and online communities of learners designed to support teaching and learning in mathematics and technology-enabled learning.

The project begins with nine webinars, run by members for members, during the month of November on topics such as: developing rich problem-solving, communication, getting comfortable with mathematics, using technology across the curriculum, gamification, google docs and apps, 21st century learners, iPads/iPods and media for learning.

Registration is available in both PDF and RTF formats.  Please fax your completed form to ETFO-AQ at 416-355-6753.  For more information visit the ETFO website or email Janet Millar Grant at jmillargrant@etfo.org.

Take a few minutes to check the TVOT Local Website.  This is your career and profession, be informed.  The majority of our members have registered accounts on the TVOT Local Website, there is still a small minority of our membership that have not yet registered- please go online and register today.  If you experience any problems or have any questions, we are always available at the office to walk you through the steps.  Please use your personal email address as it is inappropriate to use the Board's First Class to contact the Union; nor is it private.

There are still several spots available for our upcoming PD event on October 30th, at the Best Western Lamplighter Inn from 4:30 pm - 7:30 pm.  Interview Skills for Occasional Teachers is being presented by Sylvia Van Campen.   Dinner will be served and there is no charge to members.
